300 word essay. Write a journal describing a time that you had to make a really big decision that might affect how your life turns out. You could also talk about a decision you are trying to make right now.

Objectives:
  1. The learner will be able to identify and explain reasons why women stay in an abusive relationship
  2. The learner will be able to identify and explain steps a woman can take to protect herself while attempting to leave an abusive relationship
Directions:
  1. Identify and explain at least 5 reasons why women stay in abusive relationships
  2. Identify things that a woman can do before, during and after leaving an abusive partner to protect herself.
  3. Define and explain what animal abuse is.
  4. Define and explain what elder abuse is.
Google search terms (focus on sites ending in .org and .gov):

  2. Select a notesheet to begin taking notes on each category/question that you created
    1. Take notes on only one category or question at a time
    2. Do not use your notesheets to take notes on more than one category

Main Idea Graphic Organizer
  1. Place your topic in the center
  2. Write your main categories around it.
  3. Create a question to answer for each category
    1. You must not already know the answer to the question
    2. Your question must require more that a simple factual answer

  2. Research Project:
    1. Write a short paragraph that explains what your topic is and why you are doing it.
    2. Make sure you explain how you expect others to benefit from it
    3. You need to have a better reason than “It’s an assignment” or “I like engines”. You need to have an actual experience that is worth sharing. Your work should teach us something relevant.
