Waking up to the loud voice of the guard yelling "Time to get up”. We have a big day planned for you today" With a evil Grin. I think "Man, how much longer can i take this crap." As my cell door opens up, i prepare for the day ahead. I think to my self "I Must Get Out of here!" But that would be impossible; this prison is secure like Fort Knox. But everyone said the Titanic was a unsinkable ship. So, their must be a way out of this place. At breakfast I think out a great and brilliant plan to get out of here.

As i head back to my cell I’m still thinking on how to get out of here. They do cell checks every hour. So I have to escape in the time period. But they always lock my cell during the night. So the only way out is through the wall. As i work in the wood shop I run into a sketch of the prison. Their is a 5 foot space behind the wall. That would be plenty for me to get out. That night I get out the tool I smuggled from the shop and start digging at the wall. It was a brick wall so I could just dig at the mortar and pull the brick out. Then during the day I can hide the damage I made with a poster, since we are allowed to hang posters. I worked for most of the night, and I was able to remove one of the bricks. But that would not be big enough for me to get through since I was a wide build, and a little round in the middle. I continue thorough the day acting like nothings going on. Just before lights out, I overhear some other inmates talking about escaping. They said their is a tunnel below the cell block that go’s well beyond the fence. So i go up to them and introduced my self. We during dinner we sat at the same table and got to know each other. I told them I was serving a life sentence for murder. The other two were doing the same. Then one of them said "This place is the dumps. We have to get the heck out of here!" I wanted to tell them i was planning a escape tonight. But i was afraid they would betray me. And I would end up in the hole for days. But i told them anyways. I told them how I would carry it out and that i already started to dig a hole in the wall of my cell. They said they would join me in the escape. That night i start digging at the second brick. I was working hard to get that brick out because i wanted to get out. 3 Hours later i removed the second brick and was able to see what was behind the bricks. I thought i would see a tunnel and i did! My heart was racing as i pushed my self through the wall i hear walking outside of my cell. It was a guard. They are doing their patrol early! I was able to get through the wall and i landed on my chest in a puddle of water. The smell was horrible. It smelled like a body was sitting in a sewer for years! But the yell of the guard turned my attention away from that to trying to get out alive! I start to run down the tunnel as the prison alarms start to ring. Then i start to hear foot steps behind me! Oh no the guards must of found me and are chasing after me. I look behind me to see if it was a guard. But all i saw was a faint orange. It was those other guys i met at dinner. They had escaped just before the guard opened up their cells and tried to grab them. We then started to run together to the end of the tunnel. Now where do we go i said urgently. This way towards the light! As we turn the corner i hear a loud blast and the sound of a bullet hitting the wall next to me. They are on to us I Said out loud. We keeped running till we reached the end of the tunnel. Ah the great outdoors one inmate said. Were not out of this yet! I yelled as bullets wised by our heads. We kept running towards the fence I suddenly heard a loud scream “I’m Hit, I’m Hit!” I tuned around and a inmate was shot. But I didn’t care I wanted to get out of here. So I put that out of my mind and kept going towards the fence. After what seemed like hours, we finally got to the fence we had to climb over. As I got near the top of the fence I threw the blanket on to the razor wire so we would not get cut. I climbed over and jumped down to the other side. YES, IM FREE! But no time for celebration, I had to get as far away as possible. About 2 hours later I was in a dark forest. With the sound of the prison alarms in the background I start to think about what to do now. But I had to get some sleep as I was tired from the constant running. The next day I woke up with the sun in my face. That was the greatest thing to me to see the sun for the first time in many years. So I continue towards the city. When I reach the city limits sign. I Said, “This is where my new life begins” but then I look down towards the ground and I relies that I’m still wearing my prison uniform. Desperately trying to find a change of cloths before someone spotted me I ran back into the woods. Then, I saw a house just beyond the trees. So I continue towards it cautiously so I won’t be spotted. Wow, what luck their was no one there and their were cloths hanging out on the line. So I quickly grab some and then run back into the forest. I quickly change out of my prison uniform and then start walking out towards the road and walk into the city. As I walk I think about what to do now. How am I going to get a job, they do background checks for all new employees. I could not risk this but I had to find a job, other wise I could not live. So I got a news paper and started to look for a job. When I opened up to the classifieds, one ad caught my attention. Their was a lady looking for someone to help her maintain her yard for 10.00 an hour. It was 8 hours a day. That would be perfect. Now I had to find a place to live. Their was an apartment just down the street from where I was working. It was 350 a month for rent. I called the number that was on the rent sign and made an appointment to view the apartment. The landlord was not able to view it till the next day so I had to live in the woods for one more night. I wasn’t really looking forward to doing that. I was still paranoid that they would find me if I stayed there, but I had no choice I had to sleep because I start my first day of work tomorrow. So I walked over into the woods. And sat down by a tree and begin to think about how my new life was going to go. A life running from the law this is going to be very interesting.

So far the first year of school has started out very rough. I was here on the first day which was Tuesday, but I had to leave during lunch for a dentist appointment. I was scheduled for a tooth extraction. I was very nervous getting into the dentist chair. A lot was going thorough my mind. I was thinking will they numb me up good? Will it hurt when they try to pull it out? But I tried to clear that out of my mind and just be glad that I was finally going to get this tooth that has been bothering me for the past year out! The doctor came in and made the decision to pull it out. So he got the Novocain out and numbed me up. About 15 minutes later, the tooth was finally out! I was happy and was thanking the doctors for getting it out of my mouth. So I got home and took the pain killer that was prescribed to me, and then headed to my bedroom where I crashed into my bed and went to sleep. When I woke up, it felt like I was punched in my face. I didn’t feel like eating anything. I was pretty much limited to a fluid based diet while the surgery area was healing. I could not drink any soda for the first 24 hours, and could not do any physical activity till healing was well established. It was very hard to talk as it hurt every time I moved my mouth. Some people that know me would wish that I was always like that.
