Visualizing your future
How Long Is Your Life?
High school students have rarely been asked to look at their future beyond where they will be going to college or what job they think they will have. This lesson asks you to think in a long-term perspective. By using a timeline, something you should be familiar with from past history classes, you can map out the major events in your lives: when you start working full time, buy your first house, get married, retire and finally die.
What's the Cost of Your Dream World? By Mindy Farmer
So what are you going to do after high school? Given it any thought? Maybe go to school, get a job, buy a new car, or move out of your parents' house. Do any of these things sound familiar? So how much is this whole big plan going to cost you? Have you ever thought of the money side of these big plans you have? Well, now you have a chance to figure out just how much.

"Smart"
My dad gave me one dollar bill
'Cause I'm his smartest son,
And I swapped it for two shiny quarters
'Cause two is more than one!
And then I took the quarters
And traded them to Lou
For three dimes -- I guess he don't know
That three is more than two!
Just then, along came old blind Bates
And just 'cause he can't see
He gave me four nickels for my three dimes,
And four is more than three!
And I took the nickels to Hiram Coombs
Down at the seed-feed store,
And the fool gave me five pennies for them,
And five is more than four!
And then I went and showed my dad,
And he got red in the cheeks
And closed his eyes and shook his head--
Too proud of me to speak!

Does it convey your best qualifications or does it reveal serious weaknesses? This WebQuest will guide you through the building of a very successful resume.
